J. C. Herman is a professional journalist and accomplished writer. He has written more than 200 articles for farm magazines and trade journals during a 45-year writing career.
Mr. Herman grew up on a crop and livestock farm in north-central Kansas. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural journalism from Kansas State University and a Master of Science degree in rural sociology from the University of Arkansas. He also is a graduate of the Institute of Children's Literature in Connecticut. He is retired from Iowa State University where he spent 30 years as a print media communications specialist.
