Everyone wants to be more beautiful and fitness is one way to accomplish this. If your tummy is bulging and your thighs sagging then rather than go on a diet, it could be that you simply need to tone those muscles. But there's no need to rush out and buy the latest expensive exercise equipment. For a start, exercising on equipment at home is actually extremely boring, so unless you are truly motivated, you won't keep it up.
Why not try to get your exercise in a more fun way? Sure, you could join the local gym, but again, that is going to cost you money and you need to remain motivated or you'll find plenty of excuses to not attend. Make exercising fun! Buy a bicycle and join a bike club. Join a walking or horse-riding club. Or just go dancing. Dancing is one exercise that will build and tone many muscles while being great fun.
Swimming is another great way to shed kilos and tone up muscles. Winter is no excuse with so many indoor and heated pools springing up. If you live near the coast you are doubly lucky as you can combine swimming with walking along the beach. A sport such as tennis will also make your exercise fun. Don't stop at one thing though. Fill your days up with fun and exercise.
If you are not into sports or going out a lot, you can even exercise with gardening. This is a great way to improve your lifestyle with pretty flowers, but you can also grow those yummy salad vegetables that will help your goal of slimming and getting fit.
Another idea is to borrow the kids skipping rope for a good workout. This will strengthen your legs, ankles, arms and just about every other part of you. Nearly all homes have at least one step and you can utilize this for a great workout simply by stepping on and off, alternating your feet each time. Work up speed and keep it up for at least five minutes at a time. When you first start, you may only be able to do it for one minute.
You can incorporate exercises into your daily routine too. Walk to the shops instead of driving. You may even like to get a dog. Those mournful doggy eyes will soon motivate you to go walking. Throwing a ball or stick for your dog to chase will tone up your arm muscles in no time. No more flab! That's your goal.
