Kite Surfing
Sunday, 23 March 2008

For those who love extreme water sports, kite surfing or kite boarding is perfect for you. From UK to South Africa, this new craze has swept coastlines across the world. In the US alone, it has invaded the beaches and lakes of some states like California, Maryland, North Carolina, Oregon, and of course, Florida. Here are some reasons why kite surfing in Florida is considered as one of the best experiences.

First reason is the weather. Seldom can you find a state with warm weather all year round. This makes the ride more enjoyable, since the wind that blows against you is not freezing cold unlike in some places.

Its steady winds allow the kite to fly steadily as well. This makes it perfect for kite surfing, where consistent winds are necessary to keep you afloat.

If you haven't tried it yet, consider taking a kite surfing course first. This way, you learn the basics as taught by a professional kite surfer. You also get to try different kinds of equipment before deciding on which ones to buy for yourself. This reduces the risk of purchasing equipment, which may not suit you later on. This is also the opportunity to meet new friends and fellow enthusiasts. Through this, you will also know of your skill level, so you can make the necessary adjustments on yourself.

Kite surfing schools cater to both beginners and intermediate riders. So if you have plans of knowing more about the sport, to engage in more difficult stunts and ride faster kites, there are instructors and trainers who are willing to teach you.

Others opt to teach themselves. While this may seem difficult, there are some instructional books and DVDs, which you can buy to educate yourself. Magazines and websites are also good sources of kite surfing information. Here you can find tips and guides to better teach you. As for the equipment, you need not worry on buying them yet, since there are some stores, which allow equipment rental.

Florida boasts of many kite surfing clubs and organizations, which you may join. These clubs are helpful in encouraging and teaching budding riders. Here you can ask the more seasoned riders for tips on how to do certain routines or moves.

In choosing a kite surfing school, check if it is certified by the Professional Air Sports Association (PASA) and accredited by the Florida Kite boarding Association. This will assure you that what they teach are based on the standards and rules that state laws require. There are safety guidelines that every kite surfer must learn, so it is important that the school teaches you that. These measures are taught to prevent the rider from hurting him and others.

Kite surfing schools abound Florida. From east to west, north to south, there are many schools for you to choose from. And the view is just breathtaking. This alone is reason enough to try kite surfing in this beautiful state.

Kite surfing in Florida is something that any sports enthusiast should try. There are many kite surfing destinations in some of its major cities. The key is in finding one that suits you. Check out their websites and see what they have to offer.

Compare them on some criteria like price and accommodation. And while you're at it, don't forget to enjoy. After all, this is what life's all about.

Winds represent an awesome force of nature that man has continually strived to harness for his use. Hence, we have windmills, sailboats, and other implements that utilize the power of the wind for man's use. Today, this power is also used for entertainment. The use can be observed in the recent popularity of kite surfing in Australia.

Australia is a more commonly known for Koalas, Kangaroos, the Outback, the Sydney Opera House, and the Great Barrier Reef. The whole layout of the continent has a huge potential for diverse activities. Kite surfing is one of those activities that take place in the waterside of Australia.

Kite surfing is a water sport where you basically strap yourself to a surfboard, launch a kite and hang on for dear life. It can be a bit dangerous to surfers and even to swimmers who get in the way. What you should understand is that kite surfing involves attempting to control something that is usually uncontrollable. This means that danger is an inherent part of this activity. But with the right advice, you might just transform it into the best time you can ever have.

Taking up kite surfing seriously will require you to invest your cash in equipment costing something between $1000 and $3000. This includes your standard board, kite and safety equipment such as a flotation device. You will obviously need to take some lessons if you want to engage in this activity safely.

During training, you will learn how to maneuver your kite in such a way that you will be able to use the wind to move in the direction you want. You will also learn about the different safety procedures that you should always keep in mind in order to avoid accidents while you are having fun.

The efforts of AKSA or the Australian Kite Surfing Association made kite surfing increasingly popular in Australia. They hold various competitions to test the skill of kite surfers, as well as promote the sport.

If you are planning to kite surf in Australia, you might want to consult with AKSA for various spots, which provide ideal conditions for kite surfing in Australia. After all, it's not a sport that you can do just anywhere.

The Association also provides services related to the safety of the kite surfer. They, for example, spread knowledge about the various guidelines that a practitioner of the sport should adhere to in order to stay safe. They also offer insurance policies, as well as safety gear.

If you intend to get the best out of your kite surfing experience, you should make sure that you stay safe. You should also definitely make sure that you have the most fun by getting the right type of equipment and the right type of training. After all, you are dealing with a very unpredictable element of nature here.

All in all, kite surfing is a truly extreme sport, which offers the thrills of being propelled by air and the feel of the spray. It is also an activity, which requires considerable skills and training. The bottom line is that if you want to enjoy this activity, you should make sure that you keep the danger factor to a minimum and the fun factor to a maximum.

Respect the power of the breeze and the surf and always remember everything you learn.

Kite surfing is one extreme sport that's enjoyed by people all over the world. Its popularity has reached many parts of the world that it is now among the most popular water sports in the US, UK, South Africa and even as far as Asia. For kite surfing enthusiasts, finding the right equipment is not a problem, with the many sources available. Here are some ways to find kite surfing equipment in the UK.

If you are serious about kite surfing, you must make sure that you have the best equipment that you can have. "Best" does not mean the most expensive but the one that you are most accustomed with. There are basically two kinds of equipment that you can buy: new and used equipment.

New equipment can be bought in sports shops and through the Internet. Every kite surfing school and kite surfing location is sure to have a sports store which sells equipment near it. Before you buy any equipment, ask tips from your trainer or any kite surfer you know on where and what items to buy. If there is no sports shop, then try visiting a local department store or warehouse.

The Internet is also another venue to buy equipment. Browse through the many websites dedicated to kite surfing. Most of them feature equipment for sale. Some sites even compare the different brands according to some criteria like price and features. Aside from this information, you may also learn tips on kite surfing and other useful information related to the sport.

Those who have mastered this sport would advice starters to buy used equipment. Aside from the cheaper cost, there are many sources available. If you are enrolled in a kite surfing school, you can ask your trainer or other older kite surfers if they knew of any used equipment for sale. Some schools actually sell used equipment. Be sure to check the item for any defects.

You can also search for used equipment in the Internet. There are many websites which feature used equipment for sale. The downside, though, is that you are unable to see the item personally before buying it. Also, there is added cost for shipment, so it may cost a bit more than when it is bought in a store.

What equipment do you need to buy? First, you need a kite. There are different kites available, such as inflatable kites and foil kites. There are pros and cons to each type of kite. It is best that you buy the kind, which you have, tried kite surfing with.

Next is the board. Again, there are many different boards available and each type performs differently, so choose well. The board has foot straps, which make it easier for you to attach and detach from it.

Other equipment includes helmets, life vest, harness, flying lines and control bar, among others. A wetsuit and some boots complete the get-up.

If you live in UK, there are many sources of kite surfing equipment. But one word of advice though. Before purchasing any equipment, make sure that you really like the sport. Equipment can be quite expensive, so it is wise not to spend money on it if you have no intentions of pursuing the sport.

Perhaps you can test the waters first by enrolling in a kite surfing school. If after a few lessons you still feel the same way, then that's when you buy the equipment.

Kite surfing is the most popular water and extreme sport at present. With the increasing popularity of kite surfing is the increase in demand of kite surfing schools. As a result, kite surfing destinations like Brazil have more schools now than there were years ago. But how do you find the right kite surfing school in Brazil?

Brazil boasts of 7,000 kilometers of beach. That's a long strip for all kite surfers, not to mention the flat-water lagoons and rivers that they can also use. These beaches are found in some of its major kite surfing destinations such as Rio, Buzios, Paracuru, Ceara and Fortaleza. Here you can find beaches, which cater to kite surfing exclusively, and near these beaches are several kite surfing schools that you can find.

Nearby cities, although undeveloped at present, show promise of becoming kite surfing havens. This means that kite surfing is not a fad but is sure to stay far longer than expected.

This goes without mentioning the good food, music and events that this place could offer. Accommodations are likewise great but affordable. Aside from that, airfare rates are said to have gone down these days, making it considerably cheaper to go there at this time. And who can forget the friendly and hospitable locals that welcome tourists well.

While others may suggest that you learn on your own, experienced kite surfers will tell you the importance of enrolling in a kite surfing school. The instructional videos and guides that you may have seen or purchased sometimes do not answer all your possible questions. To learn a skill, it is more effective to practice it or see it as demonstrated by an expert rather than reading the instructions from a manual.

In choosing the kite surfing school, the first thing to consider is if the Professional Air Sports Association accredits the school. Instructors must likewise be licensed by the International Kite boarding Organization. This would assure you that they had the proper training necessary to become an instructor.

Another factor to consider is the price. Some schools cost more than others, so you must understand why they charge more. It could be that they cater to a few students at a time, so instructors can focus more on each student. Or it could be that equipment rental is already included in that fee. While it may cost a few more bucks than others, you nonetheless get more value for your money.

Consider also if you want to take a group class, or hire a private instructor. Hiring an instructor one-on-one may be more expensive, but you get more out of the lessons, and so you learn faster.

You may look into the track record of the different schools to help you choose. These schools have Internet websites that you can visit and check. You can even send questions through email. Once you decide on the school, you may even do bookings online.

Kite surfing schools in Brazil are among the best ones to learn from. But they can only do so much as to train you. If you want to be good at the sport, you need to practice on your own.

Any successful professional kite surfer will tell you that hard work and determination are some qualities that you must have. More importantly, you must love the sport and enjoy it always.

One of the best things you can do during a holiday is to discover a new activity. A kite surfing holiday is ideal for you to explore the new extreme sport that's taking the world by storm.

What is kite surfing all about? Well, it's all about you, the wind and the sea. Actually, it's all about maintaining control and getting the most out of life while strapping yourself onto a board, launching a kite, and hanging on. If you want to discover what it's all about during your holiday, then here are some things you should know:

1) Training matters - if you are new to the sport, then your holiday might be a great way to try out this sport. You might not hit grab the kite and hit the water right away but you will definitely enjoy kite surfing after a brief training. Kite surfing, after all is an extreme sport for a reason. There is danger involved. When you are being taught, you need to listen.

2) The equipment - Since it is a holiday, you might be given the opportunity to rent or lease equipment. However, that does not mean that you shouldn't check out the quality of the equipment you would be using. Make sure that the safety gears you are using are effective and rated. Kite surfing is an activity that relies on equipment to give you the enjoyment and safety you need. Do not take the tools of the trade for granted, as they may be the only things keeping you from an accident.

3) Enjoy - whether you are taking the lessons or actually going on the water, never forget that you are on a holiday. The purpose of a kite surfing holiday is to give you fun and relaxation, not add to your stress by pressuring you into learning a new activity. Try to have fun when you are learning how to kite surf. Actually, most kite surfing coaches or schools would probably make the training experience quite good for you. Once you know the basics, then you can truly enjoy yourself.

4) Be safe - Make sure that you follow the safety guidelines proscribed by your trainers and the beach officers. This would allow you to minimize the chances of an accident. Check the weather forecasts to see if any sudden changes in the weather are expected.

5) Location, location, location - Being on a kite surfing holiday, you might be given the opportunity to explore different locations. This is especially so if you are a beginner. New locations will challenge you, as well as give you ample opportunity to enjoy yourself. Just make sure that you don't do anything stupid like surfing without the right training.

6) Other activities - although kite surfing holidays revolve around, well, kite surfing, that is no reason for you not to explore other activities. After all, what's with going on a beach holiday without swimming? The excitement of kite surfing can only do so much to ease your boredom. Make sure that you also have other activities planned in order to get the best holiday ever.

Kite surfing is rapidly gaining popularity all over the world. Going on a kite surfing holiday can indeed be a great idea. However, you have to keep the tips above in your mind. This way, you can have fun without the danger.

Kite surfing is a spectacular sport. Riders and audiences alike enjoy watching the players as they ride and jump. But while kite surfing videos continue to impress those who watch it, there are also some kite surfing videos which show the dark side - the fall, break and accidents that sometimes happen along the way.

Kite surfing is not as easy as it appears on video. Every ride requires hard work and determination. How he was able to perfect his move depends on the rider, and the amount and degree of training that he received.

There are two ways to train for the sport. One is by taking kite surfing courses. Here you have limitless choices. If you live in some coastal area, or if there are large lagoons and lakes in your place, with winds blowing steadily against it, then you're in luck. Chances are, there's a kite surfing school or spot in your area.

To know details of any school, you can check the location over the Internet. You'll be surprised at the number of schools in your area. If you can't find one in your area, you can be on vacation in some tropical island, where kite surfing schools also abound. This indicates how popular the sport has become not only in the US but also in most parts of the world.

Another way of learning is through self-help. Because of its gaining popularity, more and more people are learning the sport on their own. While this method seems difficult, since there is no one to personally teach you, there are many sources of information that a budding rider can read. One of these is through instructional videos.

Like websites, there are tons of instructional videos available in the market today. Which video to buy would have to depend on you. Some DVDs give step-by-step instructions while others present the topic in a travelogue manner, to make it more interesting.

These are two sources of kite surfing videos - Internet and sports shops. Try keying in the word kite surfing in your search engine, and you will find hundreds of websites dedicated to the sport the world over. As you browse through these sites, you will see the different features that they post.

Each of these websites contains videos of some sort - exhibitions, instructions, and on some instances, accidents. While these may encourage others to try the sport, there are some who find it discouraging. But I guess the purpose is not to discourage. It is only to make people aware of the dangers that this sport may bring, and that everyone must observe the safety rules that this sport entails.

As years passed, and as the popularity of the sport spread, producers and kite surfers are releasing better, more dynamic and glossy videos. With new technology, video cameras take better, more precise shots. Worth mentioning is the editing aspect of these videos. Advances in technology allow better editing and dubbing. So aside from just the graphic parts of the video, music is sometimes included to make it more interesting.

There are many kite surfing videos that you can watch. Whether wave riding or freestyle, there is one to inspire you and teach you as you learn this new sport. Here's a word of caution though.

Don't try to do free styling or other more difficult stunts for the first time without the help of an expert.

Kite surfing is a sport that requires physical strength, guts, and mental preparation. However, it is also a sport where equipment can mean the difference between enjoying yourself and landing facedown in the water. Because of this, staying informed regarding reviews of Kite surfing equipment is a must.

There are many types of equipment that the review can focus on. However, these are the three main types:

1) Kite - The kite you use for kite boarding is way different from the ones that children fly. Kite surfers use special Power kites. These kites are designed specifically to maximize the power of the wind and pull you along. Most critics review Power kites based on their maneuverability and the power that they generate.

The kite is an essential piece of equipment as it is your main source of power. Choosing the right type of kite can affect your experience considerably. It can also affect your safety, as the type of kite will determine your ability to react in certain conditions.

2) Board - There are boards specially designed for use in kite surfing. These are usually much smaller than your average surfboard and they have straps on them. Reviews on boards usually focus on the materials used, its weight, and the design. Many people might think that the board is just a flat piece of wood, but it is actually much more than that. Small variations in the design of the board actually determine the experience of the surfer.

There are some people who prefer to use classic surfboards with this activity. However, this reduces the number of tricks you can do. This is because one of the biggest thrills in kite surfing is "jumping" which you cannot execute with a surfboard.

3) Safety equipment - Safety is a very important issue in what many people consider to be an "extreme" sport. And thus, the use of safety equipment is a necessity. Getting the right safety equipment requires you to read various reviews and these usually focus on the durability of the safety equipment as well as the price. Make sure that you get the best protection possible.

Safety equipment includes flotation devices, helmets, impact vests and signaling devices. Today, there are also emergency release devices, which detach you from the kite in case the winds get too powerful and drag you out. Knowing all about these devices can be vital to a kite surfer.

When you are reading a review of kite surfing equipment, you might want to make sure that you can actually heed the advice of that review. How do you do this? Well, a good idea is to always check the source. On the Internet today, this can be a bit difficult. This is because the anonymity provided by the Internet can virtually enable anyone to declare him or herself an expert. You can do better with user or consumer reviews of various products. This is because such reviews do not rely on the opinion on one "expert" alone.

Reviews are also best if they are specific about what is good or bad about a piece of equipment. This will give you an idea of which things you can overlook and which things you cannot.

This will also allow you to judge just how much expertise a person reviewing the equipment has. All in all, learn how to think for yourself and you will be able to pick the best.

Kite surfing is one craze that's swept the world in the recent years. Whether it is in a remote island in the Pacific, or in a coastal state in the UK, kite surfing destinations have flourished. Of course, the best way to learn the sport is on some beautiful tropical island with the warm winds blowing against your face.

While it may be relatively cheap for some people, there are several expenses that you need to make, such as airfare, hotel accommodations and kite surfing lessons. Although the school might provide for equipment rental, there are some who prefer having their own equipment, such as the kite. To minimize cost, it helps to know where and how to find the cheapest kites in the world.

There are different kinds of kites to suit the type of rider and the wind conditions. The most common types are the inflatable kites and foil kites. Other kite variations are actually improvements of these two types. In choosing the kite, you also need to know the number of lines, as there may be 2, 4 or 6 lines in a kite.

Each kite has its own advantages and disadvantages. Kites also come in different sizes and colors. There are also different shapes and designs such as rectangular and bow-type. These kites perform differently under different conditions such as weight of the rider and wind speed. That is why most seasoned riders have more than 1 kite, usually 3 to 5.

This explains why you need to know how you can spend less so you can buy more. Here are some tips.

Choose a kite from a known brand. This makes it more durable, thus giving you more mileage. Also, it is easier to sell a branded used kite, at a higher price.

Browse through the Internet to find better deals and discounted prices. Other shops give discounts when you buy in bulk or packages.

Used or second-hand kites are also a cheaper deal. The price range for most kites is $500-$1,500. If you purchase used ones, the price substantially drops.

Another way to save on the kite is to convert old surfboards into kite boards. There are some establishments, which provide that service.

To get the most out of your kite, you must also know how to take care of them. Sand and water are two main elements to watch out for. Make sure that you remove sand and water off the kite before packing them.

Lay the kite flat on the beach before pumping it up. This reduces bladder twists, which can cause the kite to deform. Also, pump it when you've reached the beach and not beforehand. Transporting a pumped up kite can damage your kite.

Lines must be knot-free. Knots weaken the line and may increase the chance of a line break. Bars must also be washed and checked regularly. When transporting your kite, use its bag.

It pays to know where to find the cheapest kite surfing kites in the world. But always remember that the primary factor in choosing your equipment is not the price but safety. Choose cheap kites without sacrificing your safety or the safety of others.

In reality, there are no cheap kites. But you can find ways to increase the kite's mileage through proper care and maintenance.

Flying kites is originally a child's past time. However that does no stop the adults from continuing to enjoy them. Kites have become a past time for people of all ages. It was a matter of time that adults find a way to diversify the activity. With our unending quest for thrills and extreme sports, people are finding more ways to create something exciting by combining different ideas. Combining the propulsive power of the kite and a surfboard, you have kite surfing.

Kite surfing is a fairly new sport but it is gaining interest from thrill seekers. Everyday people are always finding something new to give them a break out of the routine of everyday living. It involves the use of power kites to pull a rider on the water with a small surfboard or kite board.

Something radical out of something simple

Flying kites is a passive safe game. However if you use for other purposes it can be exciting. The use of kites for propulsion originated from the Chinese. In the 1800's kite was used to propel ships and carts with the use of a 4-line control system. The main purpose in that time was to substitute kite power for horsepower due to the horse tax.

In the 70's Kevlar and Spectra flying kites were made, making them more controllable and efficient with more kite traction. In the 80's kites were combined with now snow skis, roller skates, canoes ice skates and water skis.

The development of kite surfing continued as better designs emerged. In November of 1984 the first inflatable design was patented. Since then, it has used by many companies to make their own products. In 1997 the "Wipika" kite design was developed and sold.

It had preformed inflatable tubes and the simple bridle system that helped in re-launching in the water. In 1997 kite boards were developed and replaced the skis. By 1999 kite surfing turned into a mainstream sport. The first competition took place in Maui in September of 1998. Schools teaching kite surfing has also emerged.

Kite surfing can be learned through kite surfing schools. These schools provide courses and lessons to teach students all the skill they need for kite surfing. This includes, flying, kite launching, landing, how to use the bar, including lines and safety devices. Eager students should take lessons from certified kite surfing instructors because the equipments can easily be misunderstood.

It may look easy from the shore but there are a number of considerations to think of such as kite set up, size and type. Students should also learn the proper way of operating and maintaining the power kite.

After the students have learned the techniques in kite flying they must now learn body dragging. The power kite is flown and the students are dragged through the water. The method is pretty much similar to body surfing but with an upward lift instead of a being pulled forward. Kite surfing gear can cost from $1000 to $3000. Apart from the standard equipment you may need to buy a life vest, gloves, booties, hood, wetsuit and different kites for varying conditions.

Kite surfing can be dangerous so it is restricted to some locations for safety reasons. Fortunately there are sites wherein you can go kite surfing. Just make sure that before you get in the water you have proper equipment and be sure to follow safety regulations.

Being a water extreme sport, kite surfing can hardly avoid gathering the attention of people looking for babes in bikinis. However, there's more to the sport than just getting wet, if you pardon the pun. It is an activity that requires mental and physical prowess. It is about utilizing your skills and having fun at the same time.

If you are thinking about beach blonde babes in string bikinis, you might want to reconsider your reasons for engaging in the activity7. For one thing, most kite surfing babes take the sport very seriously. If you are planning to take up the sport so you can meet the babes, you might just get the cold shoulder.

You should also consider the fact that babes engaged in kite surfing are into the activity for the fun factor, not to show off their bodies. If you are looking for an experience to fulfill your fantasies, sorry but you will be disappointed.

Kite surfing babes come from all ages. This shows you just how easy it is to adapt to the sport. However, it is not for casual dabbers. Most kite surfing enthusiasts agree that there are two types of people: those who are hooked on kite surfing and those who haven't tried it yet. There are women who discover the sport and fall in love with it at the age of 40 and above. It is, after all, an excellent way to keep in shape.

What does attract women to this sport? As said before, it is an excellent way to keep in shape. You actually need to use your whole body to control your movement. You also don't have to deal with the boredom caused by repetitive movements and boring music. Once you're on the board and being propelled by your kite, you'll be able to hang back and enjoy the experience.

This sport also attracts the so-called "adrenaline junkies". It is, after all, considered to be an extreme sport by many. The rush that one gets when engaging in this sport can be very addictive. It is all a matter of keeping the balance and staying in control while giving control to the wind.

Although the solitude provided by the sport can be quite calming, most women who engage in the sport usually do so with others. This is for various reasons, one of which is safety. You should remember that kite surfing is an extreme sport. Engaging in this activity without supervision is, quite frankly, suicidal. This is why kite surfer babes look out for each other.

When you participate in this sport, joining a group is also advisable if you want to improve your skills. After all, you can't expect to learn everything from the Internet or through magazines. The right companions will be able to give you some pretty helpful tips on how to make your experience more enjoyable, or at least look cooler in the water.

Kite surfing also offers women an equal footing with men. It doesn't matter in this sport what gender you are: all that matters is you, the wind, and the sea. The skills required to participate in this sport can be learned.

In fact, some people say that women actually have an advantage in this activity, simply because they have a lower center of gravity -a great advantage since balance is one of the skills needed to do well in kite surfing.
